I would give this embassy a 0 STAR rating if i could. The staff are lazy and if you do not call everyday they will do literally nothing with your visa. I missed my trip because of this laziness and ended up being held hostage because i could not travel back home due to my passport being with them. They need to get an overhaul of staff and as i can see below i am not the only one who has experienced this. This has left a very nasty and bitter taste in my mouth.

Very unprofessional! We submitted the application for more than one month before our travel date. All documents are submitted and back up has been submitted. We keep following up in doha embassy many times and they play with us asking us to call back again as they are processing the visa based on departure date. So if you are processing the visa on departure date, why do applicants need to submitt in advance?? I spoke to one guy name Mario (sounds like that) and he promised that we will recieved the visa on a specific date and do not call back again. On the date he mentioned, no visa was recieved and we are flying whitin 5 days. We keep calling this embassy and they are removing the phone line and finally we are able to speak to one rude lady saying that one passport from our application was missing. So it means, with all the phone calls we did and the promise that we will recieve it on time was a lie as one application was missing. This lady said to us, if we want our passport back, they will return it without the visa and they hang up the phone with us. (Note, they even said during our follow up that they dont have internet so the visa was not proccess yet, so you dont have visa for more than 1 month???) Finally! They gave back our passport without any visa or neither a rejection letter!!! We never been rude to them in all our follow up as we know they have our passports. We are capable of traveling and we have been traveling many time (we even have us visa ) and no reason for them to return back our passport without the visit visa requested or neither a formality of neglection letter. We end up paying all the full cancelation cost for the hotel and ticket!! Pity for the country to have a govt officials who dont value the beutiful country of Croatia and to treasure the visitors who are willing to invest with their tourisim.

They are unprofessional people delaying everything. Not even picking phone calls.. My visa application sent to them more that 20 days without any replies and all my reservations lost ! My suggestion if you are planning to visit Croatia, you should reconsider it !!!!!!

They have NO WORK to do, zero people in queue, but still won't do their job. Even if I asked them repeatedly about the status of my visa, the guy was of no help as he LIED and did not send the documents to the ministry of foreign affairs in Croatia as he claimed to do. He didn't even check the documents when they were submitted, which he was SPECIFICALLY and repeatedly asked to do. When the almost two weeks were done, I went to ask about the status again. This time I waited for an hour while this guy telephoned the ministry, checked my documents and told me there were three more papers needed (which ARE NOT mentioned on their website, btw) and guess when I went? When the 15 day processing period was almost done. At the embassy, I was told this takes a month. You know, 15 days for the guy to laze around, not notify you about the status even when you ask constantly and 15 days to actually process stuff 15+15=30. They need papers like health insurance translated into Croatian while their application form is bilingual with English.......... The best is yet to come. The owner of the hotel where you are going to stay needs to go to the police station in Croatia with your passport copy and sign a sheet saying that so and so person is going to stay under room no --- in my hotel, and send it to you and then you take it to the embassy. WOW. Solution: As proposed by the organization that invited me to Croatia, get a Schengen visa for any country, enter that country, and then enter Croatia with it, get a long term visa after you get there at the police station. Croatians in Croatia are helpful,in my experience, but not the one at the embassy in Qatar.
